Zlatan Ibrahimovic unhappy at being voted second best sporting Swede,

The 33-year-old was named runner-up to 11-time Grand Slam tennis champion Bjorn Borg in a poll carried out by newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

Ibrahimovic, who has played his club football with teams that include Milan, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona and currently Paris Saint-Germain, said: “On that list I would have been number one, two, three, four and five, with due respect to the others. Coming second is like finishing last.”

Borg, who won five straight Wimbledon singles titles and was world No 1 for 109 weeks, was more complimentary about Ibrahimovic saying: “We should be very proud of what he does and what he has done for Sweden. I just hope he continues to play football for many more years.”

Now 58, Borg said as a youngster he was more fond of ice-hockey and table tennis, adding: “It's just a coincidence that my father won a tennis racket.

"If he had not won and not one of the prizes had been a tennis racket – then maybe I would not have started playing tennis. You never know.”
